Nadine was born in Richmond Beach, Washington to Royal Wallace and Bessie Bertha Healy.  She attended school in Seattle, and was active in the church of "I Am" for many years. She traveled quite frequently as a young adult and was interested in photography, art, and flying.  For most of her employment career she worked for City Light on the customer complaint desk.
