From David Healy on February 18th, 2003, regarding Dick & Dorothy's old home at 522 Tucker in Healdsburg, California:

Hey Beedles,

Sherry, the kids, some other friends and myself were up in Healdsburg
yesterday with some other friends and just started wandering around
town.

I had a vague idea where your place had been and started gravitating in
that direction. When we got  there one of the kids was holding the leash
for our dog Poochini. Poochini bolted free when he saw a cat in the yard
of your old place. So, of course we went chasing after him.

A nice gentleman came out of the house as we apprehended Poochini, so of
course I had to relate my family history in relation to his residence.

He is Clarence Ruonavaara and his wife Betty came out as well. He spoke
fondly of you and said he had bought the house from you in 1965. It
sounded like you guys weren't too crazy about having to sell the place.

He gave us a tour of the yard and showed us his comprehensive composting
system, his shed full of sprouts among other things. The orchards below
are gone and it is totally overgrown. It looks like an impenetrable
jungle except for an area that he has cleared for a vegetable garden.

Betty cannot see to well but they walk a mile and a half every day with
Clarence as guide.

There is a Cap Cod style house next door. Clarence said that the lady
who has owned the place for as long as he has been there just passed
away last Monday the 10th. Her son who has been caring for her for the
past couple of years in living there.

Attached is a picture of Clarence and Betty in on the front step and a
picture of the house. These pictures have been down sampled for faster
downloading. I have more pictures and I have the high res versions too
if you want. Just let me know.
